Primo Center was honored to welcome Senator Tammy Duckworth to our Austin Campus for a special Mother’s Day luncheon celebrating more than 50 moms and their children. The event provided an opportunity for families to enjoy a festive meal, connect with one another, and be recognized for the strength, resilience, and dedication they demonstrate every day while working toward stable housing and brighter futures.

During her visit, Senator Duckworth spent time speaking with families, listening to their experiences, and sharing words of encouragement. She also met with Primo Center CEO Felicia Davis Blakley and Board Co-Chairs Quintin E. Primo III and Diane Primo to discuss current efforts to address homelessness and housing instability across Illinois. The Senator offered insight into federal initiatives impacting vulnerable families and reinforced the importance of continued investment in housing, supportive services, and economic opportunity. Her willingness to engage directly with our families, pose for photos, and celebrate alongside them made the day especially meaningful.
