At Primo Center, every step toward housing stability represents hope and a fresh start. Recently, Primo hosted a Rapid Re-housing event at our Madison Campus, bringing together partners and landlords to help families move quickly from shelter to permanent homes. The event supported 21 Primo families on their journey to becoming housed, creating an opportunity for families to meet directly with housing partners and access the resources needed to secure safe, stable housing.
The event was facilitated by All Chicago for Ending Homelessness and brought together an incredible network of partners, including Chicago landlords, Metropolitan Family Services, Volunteers of America (VOA), and the Chicago Furniture Bank. Together, these organizations met with families to ensure they had everything needed for a successful transition—from identifying housing opportunities to securing furniture and supportive services that help turn an apartment into a home.
Rapid Re-housing is a proven intervention designed to help individuals and families who do not require long-term intensive services quickly exit homelessness and return to permanent housing. The approach removes barriers by offering assistance without preconditions such as employment, income, or criminal history, and by tailoring resources to each household’s unique needs. Events like this demonstrate the power of collaboration—when housing providers, service organizations, and community partners work together, families can move forward with stability, dignity, and renewed opportunity.
